It is great to have 3d topographical maps mixed with GPS tracking! 3-D map quality is actually pretty good! Inexpensive and I am impressed by initial quality of mapping.

The first time I opened this I was like wow! It was an awesome virtual map. Now if it would load on my phone again that would be great. I thought it was because I wasnt in a wifi area. However, now I have wifi and data and it still wont load a map.

Lots of data collected, very interesting to look at.

The elevations for the Topo Map I-III are in meters. I reported a map error near where I ride and well see if they can fix it. The error made it look like there is a giant cliff right through the whole front range near Golden, CO. Must be a stitching error. The USGS maps are very old but thats not their fault. At least the elevations are in feet. Im trying to give the app more of a chance because its not super intuitive. Eg: If you search for a feature outside the downloaded map it just gives you an error unless you search for it in the New Map page. Surrounding areas dont really load unless you go to the Global Online Map specifically, which I didnt see at first. Maybe its better for metric countries.

Being looking for good iOS app for hiking that can download maps offline. This one is nice. It will be nicer if the graphical summary on the phone can be exported for social media posting.

Im an avid hiker, and am out hiking multiple times a month. I have gone through several crappy hiking map apps til I found this one. It seems like the map quality on the others was so-so and you had to pay a fee to get the maps or buy them ala carte. I have done multiple hikes with this app, the hiking map accuracy is great, I love that it downloads the maps to your phone for places where there is no service, has the 3D view, and records my tracks.

Use to love it. Now it wont load or let me change maps!

First I couldnt save any maps successfully for offline use. I got into an endless loop of error messages about not being able to download tiles and retrying. Now the app wont load any maps at all. Either their server is down or they have blocked me for trying to...use the app. Busted. I want my $5 back.

The app is almost perfect in every way but it lacks Apple watch support. Which is not cool... It would make it much more competitive if it had that functionality. Now 80% of the business is going to Gaia gps just because of that ! Hope developers make up for it and add Apple watch support in the next update otherwise Im switching to Gaia too...

iPhone 6Plus, will not load maps. Anyone else having this issue?

I had to replace my iPhone recently and discovered the hard way that this app does not back up any maps or waypoints you save to it. Ive lost an entires summer worth of hiking data as a result. This is infuriating considering a similar tracking app kept its data during the restore. It is a great tool for offline maps, just make sure you use another mapping app to properly save and back up your info because this one will not.

Great 3D but map download doesnt really work properly. Very disappointed. Support nonexistent.

Offline operation and seamless uploading of GPS tracks make this app extremely useful. Built in compass view is also a great addition. Overall a complete backcountry navigation aid.

The iPhone app is great. With that said, please make an Apple Watch app. It would be great to be able to use the offline tracking features of the iPhone app with the watch.

Severe visual problems in list views make it impossible to use this version in iOS 9

My go to for keeping track of exploratory and fitness hikes. However, reading precise time points on the graphs is unfortunately not possible. Otherwise a great app.

I use it every time I go hiking and it always performs perfectly! It helped me find the way in a lot of difficult situations.

Im surprised to see an update as its been so long from the last one. Love the app but Ill make one suggestion that could bump up my rating to 5 stars. I want to be able to switch between maps while choosing an area to save for offline use. If I want to go on a hike but the trail is far from any highway or road how can I tell which area to save other than by saving a very large piece of land in a general area I think my hike could be in? It would save a lot of trouble.

While I hesitate to say anything bad about Gaia as they have a cool team and seem like a nice group, Ive been having nothing but trouble with their app recently. Especially crushes while trying to use things in off-line mode. I found this app recently and its exactly what Ive been looking for. Its actually kind of surprising how hard it is to find a good off-line topo map app. The user interface is exactly what I needed, downloading off-line map areas is simple, and the overall user experience is what Ive been missing in every other app Ive tried. To the developer, I hope you plan to update this more in the future. I would have easily paid more for this app. You might be under charging.
